    Athletics Administration, Coaching
He was the coach of all sports and Athletic Director. A devoted physical culturalist, Mackie taught psychology at KWU, combining tremendous coaching logic with psychological motivation. Mackie was a tremendous judge of talent, and he had only three losing seasons of football in his seventeen years here, the first three. His teams won or shared six conference championships with three runner-up finishes. His lowest KCAC finish was third. A.B. coached three undefeated teams in football, and in 1927 he coached the only undefeated and unscored on team in KWU history. His 1933 basketball team won the KCAC.
