Jerry Jones Kansas Wesleyan Coyote Athletic Hall of Fame
Phil started on two KCAC basketball championship teams for Coach Ken Cochran. A three year letterman, "The Splendid Splinter" earned first team All-KCAC and honorable mention NAIA All-American. Phil was equally adept at baseball, playing third base for the 1966 KCAC champions. In 1967 Phil batted .367 and was a unanimous choice for All-KCAC. He was also selected to the NAIA baseball honorable mention All-American list. After graduation Phil was elected to the W-Clan Hall of Fame for his work in support of KWU athletics.
