Twice selected NAIA All-American honorable mention, twice named first team All-District defensive back, and twice selected for the first team All-KCAC, Dennis received much recognition for his football abilities. As a track runner, he was part of two record-setting relay teams: two-mile relay (8:06) and distance medley relay (10:45.3). Individually, Dennis set the KWU two mile standard of 10:10.4.
