At the time of his graduation, Gary held nearly every offensive record in KWU basketball history: career total points (1544), season points (450), game points (43), career field goals (566), season field goals (162), career free throws (412), season free throws (154), game free throws (15), season free throw percentage (.917), career free throw percentage (.777). Gary was chosen three times to the All-KCAC first team and in 1955 was named All-American.
