Cade was a four year letterman in basketball, earning first team All-KCAC for three years. He was a starter on KWU’s first ever basketball championship team. Cade went on to greater fame as a high school and college coach. He ranks as the all-time winning coach at Fort Hays State University. Among his coaching innovations are the “in and out” double-team off the full court press. He is a member of the Kansas Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame and the Kansas State High School Activities Association Hall of Fame.
