Jerry Jones Kansas Wesleyan Coyote Athletic Hall of Fame
Randy was a two year letterman for Coach Ken Cochran. During Randy’s senior season, the Coyotes were KCAC Champions. Returning to KWU as head basketball coach, Randy compiled a three year record of 43 wins and 25 losses. This was the fifth best total for wins at KWU. His 1976 team won the KCAC and set several records: highest scoring average (90.8), most consecutive wins (20), and one of his seniors, Tracy Rietzke, set the NAIA record leading the nation in field goal percentage (.771, 179/228). The 1976 team is widely considered the best basketball squad at KWU.
