Amos was named All-KCAC halfback in 1936 as the Coyotes won their third KCAC title in a row. He was outstanding in track as well, setting the KWU pole vault record of 12’4” and setting the 880-relay record of 1:30.3. As basketball coach at Russell High School, Amos was named to the Kansas State Activities Association Hall of Fame.
