Charles led the nation in rushing with 1665 yards, averaging 185 yards per game. He was twice named first team All-KCAC and All-District 10. As a senior Charles was selected to two All-American teams, the Associated Press third team Little College All-American, and the NAIA honorable mention All-American. Charles also ranks first at KWU with a career rushing mark of 3279 yards.
