Jerry Jones Kansas Wesleyan Coyote Athletic Hall of Fame
John Brooks was a standout receiver for the Coyotes in the early 1980s, when he was named Honorable Mention All-KCAC at wide receiver in 1981 with 19 receptions for 458 yards and 3 touchdowns, and Second Team All-KCAC tight end in 1982. Part of 1982 KCAC Co-Champions football team that was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2007. The Newark, N.J. native also was a star on the track, still holding records in the 200m and 400m, and is part of the school record 4x100m relay school record team. Since graduation, he has worked with special needs children. He has also teamed up with KWU teammate Dwight Preston ’84 at Preston Football Camps in Center, Texas, to give coping skills to young men attending the camp.
