Jerry Jones Kansas Wesleyan Coyote Athletic Hall of Fame
Earl lettered in basketball and football at Kansas Wesleyan University. He played on two KCAC championship football teams (1956 & 1957). Earl was awarded the M.C. Culotta Athletic Academic Award his junior season. After graduation Earl began teaching and coaching. From 1958 through 1986, his football teams won 169 games, lost 65, and tied 4. Earl’s teams went undefeated five seasons, won 15 league championships, and were in the state playoffs nine times. Earl coached in the 1974 East-West All-Star game. In 1991 the Kansas High School Sports magazine recognized Earl as one of the Top Twenty winningest coaches in Kansas football history.
